Blah...hope not. Was hoping for more of a CTS or Converj type grille

Looks like a European Caddy

Edit:

Something like this...

I like that fastback body and the sweeping high beltline (without looking gangster). The body sculpturing, and the large wheels on such a small car completes the look.

I think it looks great!

Cadillac ATS

GM did show a few "secret" things to a few people last week, including an upcoming small RWD model for Cadillac.
The "Europe Only" BTS replacement has been in the work for a few years. So a hatchback was included mainly for the European market.
Which is what this picture (sent to me) is showing.
Not sure if Cadillac will keep selling cars in Europe at all.
The the hatch might be out. Leaving a sedan and a coupe for the US market.
A great idea anyway. Competing mostly with the Lexus IS.

I'm sure GM will refer to this as a 3 series fighter. But the truth is, most BMW buyers won't even consider anything else. They just want a BMW.

I don't think this is THE RWD Cadillac Alpha.

The front overhang, and the proximity of the front wheelwells to the door say FWD all over it.

This may have been the FWD "Alpha" Caddy that GM was considering before they pulled the trigger and decided to go RWD.

I'm sure it's a relatively small matter to adjust the styling and proportions to accomodate a RWD setup, but the car in that picture is clearly based on a FWD architecture.

I think this might be a "Cadillacified" Volt. The body lines between this and the Chevy seem similar and it looks like the grill is sealed like the Volt as well. Its a nice looking vehicle, but it seems somewhat bland when you compare it to a 3 series, G37, IS, etc, which also makes me think that this isn't the ATS we're looking at.

hmm... good point. Over hangs do make it look like a FWD.

also I'm not a fan of the hatch, at least not in this picture. Maybe if I saw it it person.

Not good. Hopefully, not the real ATS!

This is what I thought too as soon as I saw it. Other than that, it's no stunner like the CTS - it's really kind of bland looking.

I noticed to front overhang too, but someone confirmed this as an early Alpha 5 door hatchback (aimed at Europe).

I sure hope they tweak the front end though.

Not horrible, but the analogy that popped into my head was this

charger::avenger
CTS::ATS

Though the ATS isn't quite as bastardized and disproportional as the avenger, i see some of the same squishedness. And i definitely vote that looks FWD.

I don't like the hatch in the back. Other than that, the car looks great.
