Re: Anyone seeing the new Tahoe on the road today?

Chevy mailed me this nice brochure for the 2007 Tahoe.. and a private discount too for "loyalty".. Neato. Anyone else get this? I bought a new 2004 Avalanche, so I'm probably on thier targeted mailing list.. If they do the same for the new Avalanche that comes out, I might actually bite on that.. Especially if the Av's get the 6 speeds. The interiors look really nice, and the extra level of safety would be nice..

Ack, I just noticed you can only get a front bench in cloth on the base LS model.. I hope the other ones will have a leather front bench.. SUV's and trucks should always have a front bench!

although if it came down to it, I would rather get a new Camaro by then..

My parents received the discount and the booklet for the 2007 Tahoe... My dad was all excited even though I showed him pictures after the unveiling... My mom doesn't want to get rid of the 2000 though... If the Aura was out sooner, or something around that size and around the 30-35 grand price range worth it, thats what she would be driving...

Yea, its one thing to see pictures on a computer screen, but this brochure is really a nice piece of work.. Pictures are huge and pretty, and the catch phrases work. Great work.

A good test was when I was flipping through it with my wife casually looking over my shoulder.. She made me stop at the interior pics, a few of the exterior pics, and then definantly at the exterior color options page, since its so pretty heh... its a nice two page layout, of from an up above shot, of the Tahoe's in various colors on a warm wood floor.. Our favorites are the dark blue metallic and the greystone metallic... I hope the next Camaro will come out in those colors too.

Stopped at a dealership and looked at one today- friend wanted to look. Front end looks nice- I like the way they smoothed it. $51k for a 4WD LT, though- YIKES. Loaded, but still, $51k?? Besides, I'm anti-SUV, so I can't have one, regardless.

I've seen a few and they look great, I'm not a huge SUV fan, but for some reason I want a new Tahoe. I can't wait to see the new Avalance, in a perfect world I'd have one of those for my truck and a new Camaro for my car.

A buddy of mine from way back in h.s. is a new-car salesman at a Chevy dealership. I stop in and catch up with him a couple of times a year. I stopped in and saw him just last Thursday & took a new Tahoe out for a spin. They've got about 6 on their lot right now & have had them about a week. Already sold 1. In comparison to my '03 Suburban, it seems to have a much more solid feel. The truck is a tad wider & longer. Chevy sure does a nice job on these suv's - they drive much smaller than their actual footprint. The only time you really feel the heft of the truck is when you go into a corner a bit strong - then you feel the true mass of the vehicle. The interior is nice -- a definative upgrade over the outgoing model (like that was tough). The rear camera system is fun to toy around with - as is the switchgear for the 2nd row seats (push button fold-up seats). I really liked the power lift-gate. My wife would enjoy having something like that on our Suburban. I really think that GM is missing the boat by not offering the option of IRS and fold-flat seats. Other than that, the truck seems to get everything right: it's pretty tight.
