I dont get all this super vette stuff. When a 700 HP vette comes out will it be a super duper vette?

You got me on this one. Some of the stuff on digital corvettes can be a little out there at times. I wouldn't go too hardcore into this, not quite yet

So according to that, when the Corvette SS comes out with the blown LS9 @ 600HP manual only, the Z06 will get the LS8 and be available in automatic and manual with 480-500HP. I think the second part is the most farfetched. That is unless GM wants to flush the Z06 badge equity down the toilet.

That is a good point, the ZO6 would no longer be the "top dog."

I think there may actually be some truth behind the Corvette SS. I've heard on one of the other 'Vette boards some talk about "Corvette SS" or "Blue Devil". Regardless of what they call it, the concensus is a supercharged 'Vette. I wouldn't totally dis-credit that document just yet . But I wouldn't hold my breath for it either :blah:.

I would be more than happy to see a 600HP Corvette. But I would not be happy to have it called SS. If I was running the show it would probably be either a ZR1 or ZL1, more than likely ZR1 because I have a soft spot for them and they were already the outrageously priced version that had a non-traditional (DOHC) motor.

ZL1 reminds me more of COPO Camaro's, ZR1 would work better...Just thinking, how some people ding GM for their "low tech" engines, forget about the ZR1.....(DOHC/16 injector non traditional motor. )

I don't even see the point in this when they already have the fastest Corvette ever produced being made right now with the Z06. Is low 11's and 127 mph traps not enough?

NO... It won't be enough until you can take it straight from the showroom to the track & on street tires & pump gas run 9's @ 150 m.p.h.

It seems like it won't be enough until the Vette is capable of running down all of Europe's best.
