I thought it was kinda cool. It shows the chrome Impala emblem. You hear the LS4 burble to life. Then the Impala (in the emblem) starts leaping through the ring (in the emblem). And the announcer says "with available 303 hp smallblock V8"...or something like that.

Ok, doesn't sound that good as I explain it, but I thought it was neat.

 

Yep, I've seen 3 different variants of said commercial now.

Each time I see one I find myself yelling "SHOW THE CAR! SHOW THE CAR!!!" at the TV.

It is definitely an original idea though.

Interesting ad but I see it as a horrible failure NOT showing the actual car.

 

I thought that at first, too... but I assume it's just a "teaser" ad... I'd guess we'll see a continuation of it soon, where the car is shown.

We're talking about the ad, and we all remember it, so at least it stuck in our heads... mission accomplished.

 

Maybe they were worried it would be confused with a Camry or Accord..

 

I saw it as well very cool commerical IMO I hope they promote the new Monte some more as well. Though GM IMO has been on a roll with TV ads as of late so this dont suprize me as much but hope to see the commericals more though.

Sure enough, 3 commercials later came another different one.

wait, aren't these on sale already? I just saw one a couple of days ago around my house here in Fremont. if they are on sale, they should show the car in the ads.

 

Ya, they are at dealerships right now... driving home, a local dealer had about 8 lined up in front of their place...

They are just arriving though, so I think the timing for the ads is perfect...

For example, I thought the Oprah G6 promotion was great, and I thought the Solstice Apprentice promotion was great... the BIG problem was... you couldn't get either car at the time, and I think you lose a lot of the thunder from the promotion... with this, at least the cars are ready to go... plus, they have only been there a week or two I would think... so most people haven't seen them anyway.

 

Saw a new Impala today when I was pulling out of campus. Looks WAY better in person. It's bigger and meaner looking than the photos lead on. Very nice in my opinion. And it wasn't even an SS either.

 

Just watched a New commercial while watching CSI.

A guy is walking in an open parking lot towards his car.. well he looks up and there is a CG Impala staring right at him (almost Terminatorish) Very cool.. then you see the Impala SS hiding behind a few and it reveals a flattering glimpse and the anouncer mentioning the small block 303HP motor.

Very cool commercial although I feel they should have shown more of the interior to highlight GM's improvments.. perhaps they are forthcoming..

Good job GM.. now advertise the Cobalt SS and HHR the same way and reap the benefits

 

I saw one durring the Miami-FSU game tonight. Thought it was pretty good. Im almost sure the one I saw had the car in it. I also liked the Pontiac one.

 

Saw my first one last night...that commercial with the running Impala is cool

I've seen 2 SSs on the road already...silver and black. Nice job, Chevy. Now just give the SS the wheels it deserves!
