Anyone know
I read an article in a recent Motor Trend (I think) that mentioned something called the "tubular" platform. It is puported that this will be the chassis or platform for the upcoming Solstice, Sky, Bengal, and Speedster.
Could this "rumble" thing be tied to the "tubular" program?

I feel like Im in a bad spy movie from the Early 90s...TUBULAR?? Give me a break!
OK guess who. There's 2 people who havn't gotten back to me on this "rumble" chassis. But I may have an answer for you.
Here are actual answers I've gotten so far:
"I haven't heard of it. Not saying it doesn't exist..."
"GM sometimes makes mules that never see production.."
"Sound's like it may be that performance chassis they're working on..."
"Well, remember, they are developing cars now for the 2nd half of the decade, so it's possible." (being a f-body replacement)
"I'll never tell!" (my favorite)
"I don't know anything by that name"
Overall, what I'm getting is that (1)GM IS working on some type of performance car, (2) It's likely only a few of the people working on it, call it "Rumble chassis", (3) It's NOT a Corvette, (4) It's for 2006 or later. Since it takes at least 2 years to get from chassis development to production assuming it's using existing components, looks like whatever it is (remember, Opel is developing a V8 sports car too off of the Solstice/Bengal/Sky chassis) will likely be out in 2006 as a 2007.
In short, it does exist, but I'd only be speculating as to what car it is (as a "chassis", it could spawn a series of different cars).

could it be something to do with the AUTOnomy / Hy-wire? seems like every time I search for the rumble chassis on google I find pages about those cars, with the word "rumble" supposedly part of the page but nowhere to be found.
