Anyone else a fan of the Hummer HX concept?

I'm not usually a big 4x4 fan, but I really hope Hummer brings the HX concept into production:

It's kind of neat, but looks like Suzuki Samurai on steroids.

I'm partial to the Wrangler when it comes to 2-door 4x4's with an open top.

It looks cool, but I can't see Hummer selling something like that at a price that would compete in the off road/jeep market... And it's way too specialty to be successful if they can't...

Some guys on Jeep forums were bashing it, making comments about grocery getting. I think it looks badass, and maybe would give Jeep some good competition. I think Jeep has gotten cocky. Wrangler Rubicons price out around $30-34k depending on options. That's retarded.

I think it looks cool. But I agree that it would have a hard time fitting in since Hummer is supposed to be a 'premium' brand.

I really like it, and if they can follow through with all the promises of this truck (modular design, E85 capable (especially), etc) I think it will be a prime weapon to use against the most avid Hummer-naysayers.

Its f*ckin sweet with the slantback! I saw it at the detroit show. Only problem is that it was very gimmicky...the translation from concept to production may kill its bada**ness some.

Yes Sir!
Saw it at NAIAS, it was awsome!
The ideas expressed would make good millitary vehicles, not to mention sport trucks.
My 2 sons said it looked almost like a "Warthog" from Halo..
A slightly toned down production version should be ahead of its time.

If they build it, it will be on my list of possible purchases.

If GM does bring out the HX and is able to keep it near-true to the concept, it could possibly sway me away for the new Camaro if the price is right.

Yep, you can certainly see where the HX got it's inspiration.

Master Chief would be proud

I love it and would place it above the Jeep Wrangler. The design is modern and unlike Jeep not forced to look like the family heritage.

It would need to be close in price to the Wrangler and that would undercut the H3.

Jeep guys HATE hummers, I think its cool, I dont know why they bash hummers so bad, look at the compass and patroit. More hummer owners means more people on your side fighting for land rights, I think its more of an envy. One of the complaints you will hear about about hummers off road is the poor visibility.

I think they will build it, with the HX and the H3 truck hummer is really filling out its product line. They really need to bring the 2.9L TD to market to fulfill their role as a high end brand. Offering a V-8 in the HX would be a nice slap in the face of the jeep crowd, GM could offer the I-5, V-8 and TD and Jeeps will probably still be stuck with their minivan motor.

I think it looks pretty cool. I guess I'm not the only one who has seen the Jeep vs. Hummer rivalry.
