Any News on Impala and Monte Carlo?
What do we know about the future of the Impala and Monte Carlo right now? They haven’t been discussed lately on the board. I was reading a post of mine that I made right after the Dallas auto show and I stumbled across something I had forgotten.

The GM rep I was asking about the 5th gen said that the Monte Carlo and Impala will go on the Monaro platform. She said that as far as she knew no Chevelle was being considered as of now. She also alluded that one reason the Camaro wasn’t being worked on was that the Impy and MC were higher up on the priorities list.
We also know that in 2005 GM will unleash more RWD cars. We also know of some new plants being built ready to open around that time that are going to be building cars and RWD transmissions.
So are we going to see RWD Impalas and Monte Carlos sharing a platform with he next GTO? It kind of makes sense. But then again the FWD Impala is doing great right now in sales.
I'm not quite sure where I'm going with this, I just haven’t heard any news on these two cars as of lately. Anyone have a clue?

Impala should get V8 for 2005. The next redesign will move it to the Mid-lux platform which is an updated W-body.
I don't know what's with the GM reps, but everytime someone posts what they say it all seems to come out wrong. Like they're actually placed there to plant dis-information. Of course this was back in March sooo...who knows....
