Any Challenger news?

The Mustang threads are tiring. I feel like the Challenger is on the outside looking in. Is anything going on at the big Pentastar?

Thumbs up

Yes. Well its just a rumor but from what I heard over on the Dodge boards. Fiat is really into doing some retro ideas with Chrysler after the sucsess of the "classic" Challenger thats out now, and along with shoehorning some interesting Fiats in with Chrysler products they will have a SVD (Specialty Vehicle Department) And with that a resurection of one Plymouth.
The 'CUDA will be back. Only in the three reto colors green, purple and yellow.
It will not say Plymouth on it just "Cuda and sold through the SVD dealers. It will be sold as made and limited to 1000 green, 1000 yellow and 1000 purple versions.

The only thing changing is its getting a Cuda like front grill and rear treatment with the classic grafix and some interior styling that sets it apart from the Dodge though one guy said the first 50 or each will be special editions on top of special editions with connection to a famous series from back then?

More info to be out on 4/1/10

6.4L is coming out

Any word of the Challenger getting the new 4.0L V6? That is what the Challenger could really use.

All LX's/LY's will be getting the Pentastar V6's. Should be good for around 300hp n/a. There was talk of a turbo version making about 400hp set to replace the 5.7 Hemi.

thats my big problem. The interiors look and feel like your stepping into a rubbermaid interior.

Interior materials may be sub par by today's standards, but form and function are actually quite nice. I do wish they'd have updated them a little over the life cycle.

I have a hard time believing they'd get everything set up to make cudas and limit production to 3000 total cars.

Well they basically took what's was in the Charger and 300C and put it in there. And those cars haven't really been updated since their release, which was what? . . . 2004, 2005? Meaning they were designed in 2002 or 2003? It's the same problem that the Vette is facing right now. The only saving grace there is that they've done some things to keep it a little bit fresh while not doing a total re-do.

I agree, they should have been updated before the Challenger even came out. My point is that there is no glaring fault in the design of the gauge cluster and operation/lay out of the controls. The interiors were decent by 2004-05 standards. But yeah, it does drive me nuts when cars like the Vette and LX's get shafted on interior updates.
