Another Camaro competitor on it's way!

In case GM is too engrossed in cutting corners on the next Camaro.....here's another Camaro competitor to contemplate: http://info.detnews.com/autosinsider...peek/index.cfm

How is a 2 seater a Camaro competitor? You have the wrong Mazda. If you're looking for another Camaro competitor that is actually on the market right now it's the RX8.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. It should look very close to that.

I see both the RX8 andRX7 as possible Camaro competitors. Similarly, I can see the 2+2 G35 coupe and it's 2 seater brother, the 350Z as Camaro competitors also.

Then again, how are any of these cars competitors for a car that is out of production?

Who cares about back seats? Its not like were talking about usable back seats or anything. Either way, I still think an RX7 at the RX8 price of ~$28,000 will cannabalize $25,000 miata sales.

BTW, there is a new eclipse on the way as well.

Gee, I care about back seats. I'd like more usable back seats in the next Camaro. I think most people would. If a 2-seat sports car is a "Camaro competitor" then just go ahead and include Miata, Corvette, and BMW Z4.

You cant.WRONG price range. After all thats how they are measured.

You can bet uranus that Motor Trend will toss a 2+2 against a 2 seater though They always smuck things up.

Miata would be in Camaro's range. The others are a silly comparison which is part of my point. I've never heard of anyone shopping between a Camaro, a Mustang, and a Miata.

By the way Z4 starts at $33,000, about what you would've paid for a 2002 SS.

That's what I did. They were all true sports/sporty cars in my price range.

Hmmm. Is the turbo PT Cruiser not a "sporty" car? How about the SVT Focus? Heck even a base Neon can be considered "sporty" by many.

I think the Xtreme S10 is pretty "sporty". I don't think anyone would mistake it for a Camaro-type vehicle. I'd say you're one of the very few who doesn't care whether a car has 2 or 4 seats, 2 or 4 doors, 4, 6, or 8 cylinders when choosing a "sporty" car.
