Actually, I heard on the news (radio) over the weekend, that TrailBlazer has now overtaken Explorer as the #1 selling SUV...

Here's the latest article I could find with published numbers. I'm sure the numbers are out for May by now, but I doubt if June has been recorded. Maybe the Trailblazer outsold the Exlorer for one month, but I doubt if it has YTD.

Regardless, let's try to keep the thread on the original topic... it's a good one.

I am assuming that you did not read my post then, huh???

My sales figures came directly off of Ford, and GM websites.

Ford Explorer YTD (Jan 02-June 02): 195,845
Chevy Trailblazer YTD (Jan 02-June02): 113,136

Thus, they are 84,000+ units short of the Explorer. That is alot of ground to make up.

The moral of this story is, don't believe the radio story.

The whole Explorer thing really shows the difference in marketing between GM and Ford. Explorer with all of its infamous problems is still the best selling SUV. They've really spun some magic to keep that big jallopy at #1.

As far as the original topic, it's an echo of what we've been saying here for a couple years now. And if you think the C5 is perfect...well it isn't perfect, but it's decently close. That said, let's hope the C6 isn't close to the "Solstice on Steroids" rendition in R&T. If you didn't think GM could screw up the Vette you may want to wait till 2004 before you make that assumption.
