After driving a Magnum R/T, my impressions are........
6 speed auto....with fifth and sixth being overdrive gears.

490lbs-ft of torque (unless its blown, or tubo)
Maybe a race car version that doesn't have to meet emissions or durability.
But to increase torque to that level from only 6.1 L you'd have to get it to rev super high or increase displacement alot more.
Otherwise whi isn't the 6.0 LS2 making that much torque??? Because it cannot. Hp is easier to increase then torque.

As far as torque goes...no one really know where the 6.1 will end up. I've heard anywhere from 440 ft/lbs to 490 ft/lbs.

There are all sorts of figures flying around....up to 490 lb/ft.
One source, who claims to have contact within DCX engineering claims 448 lb/ft of torque.
In truck applications this motor will replace the discontinued 8.0L V10. In car applications, it will power most of the SRT-8 models....although there have also been rumors of supercharged 5.7 Hemi's.
I wouldn't be surprised to see a max torque version for trucks, and a better balance between torque and horsepower for cars.
One thing though, if it doesn't make substantially more than 400 lb/ft of torque.....there's not much point to developing it.
