After driving a Magnum R/T, my impressions are........

..........HOLY CRAP, IT'S FREAKIN' AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice interior, nice ride, nice handling.

But OH MAN....that HEMI.

That's the first time I've driven a car with a Hemi. It feels fast. Do I dare say, that it feels faster than an LS1 F-car? I know it isn't, but you can sure feel that 390lb/ft of torque. Stomp the throttle...and it pushes you into your seat....and speed keeps building like a freight train.

It's ride and handling are also great. It handles great for a car of it's type and the ride is extremely comfortable....even over really bad pavement.

I also prefer the Magnum's interior to the 300C. The 300C is just alittle too fancy for me. The Magnum does without all the tortoise shell, wood and chrome.

I think the Magnum R/T is incredible. I like it even better than the 300C.

I can hardly wait for the Charger!

One of my neighbors just took one for a test drive a few days ago, I'm hoping they buy it so I can take it for a ride or two...or three or four...or more...

my friends dad had one, not the hemi version, the ones that came out before then. yea their pretty quick, but he said it was a pig. like barely getting over 10mpg. im sure the new ones have better gas mileage. i remember my friend took it into a corner and let it rip. who ever thought the gal could turn all 4's
drifting...haha that was funny. then he just randomly jumped a curb. its cool though, he is scca liscenced

The hideous front end on that car ruins the whole thing IMHO.

I think he's talking about the Magnum Ram trucks and not the new 05 Magnum Wagon/crossover.

That would make sense.

Yeah, that does make make sense. Now explain being SCCA licenced makes it cool though.....

I gotta agree with the styling issues, I don't know if it's quasi-truck od an attampt at a 'throw back to yester-year', either way to me it's pretty ungainly.

its a station wagon.... i guess its been so long since they were anything recognizible in the market that we forgot about them, instead becoming sport crossovers or hybrid utilitys or something

I can barely imagine what the SRT-8 versions will be like when they come out, with the 6.1 Hemi ----with 100 more horsepwer and nearly 100 more lbs/ft torque!

Thumbs down

Any SRT-8 variants on these heavy toads are going to have obscenely poor fuel economy. It's starting to matter - even to enthusiasts - now that gas is over $2 / gal.

We'll have to see. The latest info is that the 6.1 will get MDS from the beginning. Also, it may be mated to a new Mercedes 6 speed auto....with fifth and sixth being overdrive gears.

I wonder if they'll let the Americans use their 7 speed auto?
