I was seriously thinking of trading the 335i for a G8, but now it seems the Pontiac dealers may have done me a great favor by being conceited jerks. Hmmm, now that I think of it, isn't that what the BMW dealers are famous for? Ironic, no?
Any info/details on that software update? Should it benefit all cars?

I've noticed no issues with throttle response but maybe I don't know what I'm missing?

My car is March 07 build. They did a 28.xx update at my request. After reading a forum post that someone else was suffering the same problem with their winter 07 build 335i and that the 28.xx update made a marked improvement, I scheduled an appointment and it seems to have worked. Keep in mind that my car has the ZF Steptronic; folks with MT have not complained about this, so I suspect it is was a problem with transmission software/logic and therefore not relevant to MT cars. It felt like the engine and tranny weren't connected when accelerating from a stop. Engine would rev, but the car would barely move. So, naturally, you give it more throttle; then BANG, it shoves you back in the seat suddenly. Fortunately, after about 350 miles since the update it's still running strong and I'm now a happy camper.

I've never been that impressed with the 5 series interior so it wouldn't take much to compete IMO. The back seats are even worse and only "feel" comfortable in the center. From what I've seen of the G8 it's worthy of comparison.

I saw the the G8 upclose today for the first time, interoir is very nice. no need to hide it. The whole style of the commercial was very fast pictures back to back. They didn't really show anything in much detail. But that was due to stylistic choices, not lack of quality in the car.

It did feel a little bit like a cop out with the interior...I would've preferred more content regarding the interior of the G8. Hell, Plymouth Acclaims had more rear legroom than a comparable 3 series back in the day. It didn't make their interiors superior, however...

Regardless, its definitely nice seeing, ACTUAL, REAL Pontiac commercials. "The Book of Car" was the ONLY time this whole Pontiac is Car thing actually made remote sense...
