5th gen roll out
If GM doesnt come out with a bang, Ford will probably re-do something about their line-up to top the Z28 right off the line.
Come out strong... or get beat down by ford (ford doesnt seem to have problems with releasing vehicles quickly, or have concerns like: "oh, heavens no! we cant have too much hp!"
)
I thought this was obvious... ESPECIALLY since weve had a five year break in the line. remember we are RE-introducing a car... NOT introducing it for the first time.
The Z28 needs to live the instant camaro returns

Wow that drawing looks some what close to my little concept I did back in the winter. Check it out here
If the 5th generation is going to be a 2007 model then it will probably be introduced sometime in 2006. My guess would be introduced at the 2006 auto show and be in dealer showrooms in the summer of '06. It looks like to me that if that were the case we should be seeing spy photos popping up in magazines of prototypes running around with heavy camo on them for testing by now? Or is it still to early for that, a 2006 intro would be roughly 24 months away.

probably by the time the new camaro comes out Ford will add a mid-level hi-po stang to combat it sales wise.Maybe another mach 1 or Boss car.Its going to be pretty hot in a few years and im sure rebates and discounts will appear with the glut of performance cars hitting the lots.And if chevy dosen't discount and rebate,ford will,and that will give the mustang an edge.What im saying is competition is good and it will be a buyers market.

not quite.If I have a choice between cars with somewhat equal performance(as long as it is american) I will go with the best deal.You missed the point.

I think were getting ahead of ourselves stating whick car sells better.I was just making a point.Im sure the camaro will outsell the mustang like it did with the 4th gen .

Just because the car has rebates doesnt make it the better selling car.
If the Camaro sells well, and there is no need for rebates or anything like that to boost sales, then that is good.
If the Mustang does not sell well, then they will be forced to lower the price to make it more appealing. That would mean that the Mustang isnt selling at the level Ford would like, hence the rebates.
Did I lose you?
I again point to the Taurus/Camry comarison. You can get a nicely loaded 2004 Taurus for 12k, but an equaly equiped Camry, which costs more, still outsells the car by I belive 2 to 1. One would think that cheaper car=more sales. That doesnt always work.
This isnt saying that the Mustang WONT sell well, Im just using your little line in your original post to make a point.
