Welp, I was wrong in my evaluation on the previous thread. Yep, dead wrong, and for that I apologize.
Let it die.
Move along here.
Peace... be still.

I think Ford should make a special edition Mustang with a GM drivetrain and T-Tops, and call it a Camero...this way everyones happy.

Get real.

2. Didn't you read Guion's post? GM knows it has to compete with the Mustang. 40K is no competition to 25K.

I'm not going to make this long (someone else will probally post a thread here on this very soon), but some of the things going on here are driving some people away or making them post less.
Jeez, some folks need shoulder-chip-removal surgery...
GTO is simply too expensive for me
In contrast --- the new Mustang GT is in VERY high demand and deals are very stiff.

How many times are we going to hear the same sob story?
So we can't voice an opinion that GM's management still couldn't get a new vehicle out the door in less time if their life depended on it.
So it was a priority of GM's management to destroy the corvette and make it it appeal to the overseas folks.

Destroy the Corvette?!?
The C6 base model eats the C5 base model for lunch, the C6 Z51 is within a hair of beating a C5 Z06 on a road course, the base car went DOWN in price and you're whining???
The issues around Corvette now are continuous improvement issues and systemic issues with how and why GM continues to make the same mistakes over and over in interior quality. The basic structure of the machine may be the best in the industry.

Werd.....
I realize that beauty is in the eye of the beholder....but I'd say the C6 was a homerun. I think it's damned near perfect.

you may not be alone, but your numbers won't sell enough cars to be profitable for an inexpensive sporty car.

In addition to PX's comments, have you ever seen a C5 parked next to a C6?
One looks alittle bloated and old. One looks sinewy and fresh.
