5th Gen Camaro

Here is an article that I came across at work in which GM clearly states it's intent to build a new Camaro (or atleast a similar style car with a different name). I came across this a month or so ago and have been meaning to post it:

Well it may not be a 5th gen, but its better than noting. BTW, probably should have posted this under 5th gen.

Re: 5th Gen Camaro

Fairly old news. I believe that most of us Don't want something like a Camaro. We want a new Camaro period.
We already have something like a Camaro, it's called a GTO.
"citing uncompetitive costs" Why is it that GM is the only one who can't do this? "the cars fell from favor" The cars did not fall from favor! Just asked all the new Mustang drivers. GM killed them.

That GM is "working" on a Mustang competitor isn't news. It seems almost every executive has admitted as much over the past couple of years.

The only "question" is the name.

but how well can they really do? the c5 wasn't too different than the c4 and the c6 not much different than that. I saw a saleen yesterday on the road, and that thing sits better than most aftermarket modded cars.

Re: 5th Gen Camaro

Hey, sorry about putting this in the wrong forum. I had never seen the 5th Gen. Oops. Anyway, yeah I had heard a lot of "talk" about the 5th gen but this was the first actual hard "proof" that I had come across and just wanted to share. I have read in a couple of places that they are looking to bring back the Chevelle name too. I wonder if this is what they are talking about?

You really need to check out the 5th gen forum more often. We've been discussing various forms of "proof" for well over a year now.

C4 to C5 -> big differences... entirely new LSx engine design; have you seen a C4 with all the body panels removed compared to a C5?? Like chalk and cheese. The C5 was a big leap over the C4 and shared basically nothing with the C4.

C5 to C6 -> more of an evolution and why not, the C5 was already a proven design so why not improve on the things it didn't do so well but leave the good stuff intact.
