56k C6 Z06?

Does anyone know anything about this? I heard, from someone local, that the new Z06 will be 56k not the 75k or so that was published.

I'm still holding out hope that they don't "ZR-1ize" the MSRP.

I'm hoping for $59,995 max. We'll see.

Heh, If it goes for $56k, I would most likely immediatly sell off my Avalanche and Camaro, apply for a loan for the rest, and pick one up.

Ah, although I would have to figure out what the wife would drive.. (certainly not the Z06 )

My guess is $64,995 although personally I'd like to see it start at $59,995 and offer options like NAV, XM, heated seats, etc.. to get the price higher.

I think 75k is a fair price. I am sure that if you adjusted the ZR-1's price for inflation into 2005 dollars, it would be more than what they'll charge for a Z06.

Dave Hill has said they expect Z06 production to stay near or slightly above the 20% of total build number...

There's no way I can see that happening at $75k....

True, but this crowd isn't short on money either. That and they're quite faithful. They just might put down the $$$ down regardless. In the end, even at 75k, it's still a heck of a value and i think most shopping for an ultra-high performance car will still see the value in it.

I could see something along the lines of 64k. The 2004 z06 had an msrp of 51-57k depending on options. And the c5 z06 wasn't as far derived from the regular c5 as this new c6 z06 will be from the regular c6. Given the stark differences as well as upgrades (over c6) and the price of the c6 convert, i don't think an msrp of 63-65 is out of the question.

At that price, I would expect the "ZR-1 effect"... sell a few thousand the first year, about half of that the next... then only a few hundred each year until it's discontinued.

I think ZR-1 proved that even a Super-Car Corvette won't consistantly sell at that much of a price difference over a "regular" Corvette.

Who knows. As it stands now, loaded c6 converts msrp at 63k. I don't think a z06 going for around the same price would be a stretch.

It isn't like they're asking 90k for it. That's what a modern day ZR-1 would amount to since it costed 60k back in 1990.

I don't see it costing 75k, but i do see it costing somewhere around 63-65k. Perhaps 67k tops depending on options.

I guess this is the way I see the Z06 pricing situation:

$59,995 or lower: Ideal.

$60,000-$65000ish.... acceptible, but it will trim back sales a bit.

$75,000? It's a dead duck.

I guess I meant MSRP before all the "markup for demand" adjustments.
