The $45,995 package takes six to eight weeks to set up on the 2006 Corvette Z06 and includes professional assembly and engine blueprinting, twin Garrett turbochargers, custom stainless-steel exhaust manifolds and turbo outlets, forged aluminum pistons, forged steel connecting rods and a high-capacity fuel system.
Forged steel? I wonder why they wouldnt use the factory titanium?

That looks cool that that appearance package is not included in the 46 thousand dollar price tag. From what I saw they don't change anything about the external appearance at all...

You've got to wonder why someone would spend almost the price of the original vehicle to improve it...on the one hand, I'd love to have it but on the other, that's a lot of money to have tied up in a car that, to the general public, is only "worth" half that.

As to the 1/4 mile comment earlier; not everyone lives their lives in 1/4 mile increments nor is that the only measure of performance.

Maybe they buy vehicles for their own enjoyment, and not based on what the general public thinks? Lots of things are worth more to one person than they are to most other people.

Is there a rule that if you are rich and want a fast car, you have to buy a Ferrari or Porsche? What if you are rich but love Corvettes and lots of power? Or what if you are rich but don't believe in buying foreign cars? Or perhaps the buyer of such a car also has a Viper and an F430 and...

There could be any number of reasons. If I had crazy $$$ to blow on toy cars, I would easily rather have something like that than a Porsche Turbo (which won't even beat the stock Z06, btw, let alone an 800 hp version), save maybe the $440k Carrera GT.

A sleeper Z06 with 800+ HP would be fine, just fine.

I'd take one.

Probably die in it later that night, but I can think of worse ways to go.
