The current consensus:
Front = Wow
Rear = meh...

Re: 2014 cts

Are they sure that rear isn't an XTS? I mean it looks exactly the same.

That front looks good though, they went all out in the big caddy grille.

Re: 2014 cts

Not bad, but it looks like it's losing that intricate detailing in the fender vent and all the cool metal twisting involved with incorporating it. Gone is the nice indented sweeping character line on the lower part of the doors too. The front doesn't retreat style-wise though and looks cool. I'm not seeing the same energy/effort put into the rear end's design. It too seems like a step backward from the current design.

All in all I guess we'll have to wait until higher res official pics and unveiling to see what it really looks like.

Many are saying the rear is a photoshop. It really doesn't match the front end styling at all.

Re: 2014 cts

Have to wait and see the some more pictures. But so far off first pictures are not impressive.

I have been a big fan of the new (I guess not so new anymore) Cadillac style. Big fan of the first and current CTS. Love the ATS and XTS. However I wish they looked a little more different from each other. I've seen a few ATS and XTS on the road recently and from the front at a slight distance they look a similar enough to the point I have to do a double take as they get closer. The headlights and fog lights and grille shape look too close to similar. Now seeing pictures of the CTS and it now having the long sloping headlights and vertical looking fog lights it will again look a lot like the ATS or XTS.

The current generation of BMW's look too much alike too IMO. I find myself looking at them to determine if it's a new 5 Series or an older 7.

Re: 2014 cts

That's the thing about this market segment. Buyers identify cars at this level by the brand. From what I can see so far compared to the ATS and XTS, the CTS will be the most aggressively styled, but instantly recognizable as a Cadillac.

Re: 2014 cts

I hope that's not the rear.... cause that's not better.... the CTS rear is nice..and the coupe... well to die for..

that rear is ... blah... and i hope someone just took a picture of the wrong rear... I still actually like the front end of the V better too.. more aggressive.

Here is the XTS rear for comparison.

Not quite the same.

I am really digging the front of the CTS, but I am hoping that is not the rear. Like posted above it doesn't match up. Its like the designers put all this effort in the front of the car and then when they got to the rear its like they got lazy.

Re: 2014 cts

Our tipster told us the CTS will be powered by a choice of three engines. The 2.0-turbo four from the ATS will make an appearance, as will the current 3.6-liter direct injection V6. But making its first appearance will be GM's all new twin-turbo 3.6 liter V6. We've heard power output will be somewhere in the 400 horsepower range.
Possible partial line-up for the 2015 Camaro as well?

LS 2.0 L-turbo four
RS 3.6 L V6
SS 3.6 L TT V6
Z28 6.2 L V8 LT1

Re: 2014 cts

Very interesting! I wonder how the twin turbo V6 compares to a naturally aspirated LT1 in terms of packaging, weight, cost, & fuel economy?

Re: 2014 cts

Impressive power and torque. This engine will make the CTS very competive in this market.

What I do like to hear is that this engine is a bridge from the CTS to to the more powerful CTS-V to come.
