The Focus ST is fully loaded the Camaro LS is not.

Probably your paycheck ( Inflation Calculator | Find US Dollar's Value from 1913-2012 ) if it hasn't kept pace with inflation coupled with a desire by Ford to avoid creating a loss leader.
In 2002 the 2003 Dodge Neon SRT-4 started at around $19,900. Adjusted for inflation that would be $25,374.66 today. Focus ST is a lot more car for the money and at an inflation adjusted lower price.

What happened in 2002 is not much comfort when people are buying a car today though. It's all about perception.

I hate that too. All the automakers are doing that. I just want the HIDs not the entire package that comes with it.

I've had an SRT-4 and a Cobalt SS, this Ford doesn't have the same gotta have it factor those two cars did.

Are you kidding? Did you even read the article? The Focus ST is a stripper too. You want those leather Recaros, nav, and all that other stuff? Prepare for $28,930. You can get a 2LT Camaro for $400 more (and probably a comparable Mustang).

All I am saying is that the price makes it a very niche car. You have to want that specific car to pay that much.

Ford would beg to differ. It is another $4435 fully loaded.

Not bad, Mazdaspeed3 has a bit more hp and tq, and may be a touch cheaper. Wonder how it will sell.

I'm interested to see if/when Dodge does an SRT Dart, how that will turn out.
