2013 Chevy Impala First Look
Re: 2013 Chevy Impala First Look
TheGMSource - Chevrolet News - TheGMSource First Look: 2013 Chevrolet Impala!
Thoughts? Straight from Chris Pauwels to your desktop, laptop, or "pad" screen.
What do you think?
He based the sides off the Chevy 140R or whatever compact shown at the NAIAS and the rest speaks for itself.

Re: 2013 Chevy Impala First Look
Thread (and article) fail/deception.
"First look" doesn't mean artist concept photoshop. It means a first look at the actual vehicle.
Unless you have some serious insider info on the new car, please title your threads and articles more accurately.

See here:
I noticed these spy shots haven't been posted in this thread yet. Gives you an idea of the overall shape.

Re: 2013 Chevy Impala First Look
So if the 2014 Impala is known to be based on the FWD/AWD Epsilon II and from the spy shots share a general shape with the already unveiled Cadillac XTS why did the rendering use a Zeta RWD platform as a base?
Re: 2013 Chevy Impala First Look
I bet if you dig deeper, you may find an accurate picture other than one posted here.
Re: 2013 Chevy Impala First Look
The fact that Chevrolet has a "hit" even still in todays current market means they won't do too much to tinker with it or abandon their current market. They'd be fools to.
They are going to play it VERY safe with the next Impala. Why? They've already covered their tracks by saying a new vehicle will debut for NASCAR. "Win on Sunday, Sell on Monday" is back, but the Impala will not differ too far from what Pauwels has come up with.

It will still clearly be a Chevrolet, but if anyone's thinking it's going to continue to be as dull as the current Impala for the sake of volume, you're gonna be quite surprised I think.
The actual intention is to corral current Impala buyers (who are mostly value shoppers) into Malibu, which is why Malibu grew in size somewhat.
Impala is moving upmarket.
Think the difference between Fusion and Taurus, and you've got a good idea.
Re: 2013 Chevy Impala First Look
So here's the real deal. Thankfully it looks nothing like what was in the OP (surprise, surprise
)

I agree, it definitely is going upscale in terms of style. It seems a lot more comparable to the Taurus now, and something that you might actually care to buy instead of just saying "I'll take the cheap bland one!"

Re: 2013 Chevy Impala First Look
Wow it sure has changed its look a lot between the "First Look" and this "second look"... GM must have known Josh was on to them and scrapped the entire design at the last second to go with a new look.
Re: 2013 Chevy Impala First Look
Wow, it is not even in the same ball park as his "first look" design (thank god). I wonder if he will even come back to this thread.
Josh seems to not only be consistently wrong, he isn't even close. It is almost like he is paid by GM to give out disinformation.

I agree, that looks pretty darn good. He should work for those online car news guys.
