2012 Malibu spy shots

Looks pretty boring. Though I'm sure a finished product will look better, I'm skeptical (I actually like the way the current Malibu looks, though I agree the interior could use some freshening)

Can't really tell a whole lot, although, it does look like they finally fixed the goofy looking flat tail. The very back was my only complaint about the styling of the current car.

Too much Camo for me to really make a judgment.

Sorry to see the V6 is lost....the Regal turbo isn't exactly garnering much love in the press

It looks to bulky. Loose about 3 inches off the whole beltline from front to back.

GM showed us this car August 2009 at the Product and Technology Event. I have to be honest, the Camaro Convertible and Volt received more of my attention.

Those two cars would garner more attention then any mid sized family sedan.

I hope the interior and cargo space have increased from the current model.

If someone told me that was a Camry, I'd believe them.

I'll have to wait for better pictures to make a more sound judgment...

Re: 2012 Malibu spy shots

I think it will look pretty good. It is a midsized sedan styled to sell 200,000 units a year +, I don't expect Camaro like stand out styling.

While something like 75-80% of Malibus are sold with a 4cyl., I too think it is too early to drop the V6 option. Turbo 4 is probably a better choice, but I just don't think the public is ready for the V6 to be done just yet.

What I would like to see is AWD teamed up with the 4cyl. For some reason Ford won't give people this combo in the Fusion. If the Equinox can get 29mpg, the lighter Malibu should be able to get 30mpg+ with AWD.

.
Of course, but the current Malibu is a pretty handsome car, and I'd hate to see Chevy taking a step back from that.

I know everyone will say, wait until you see it in the flesh, and that's a valid point. But, I can't ever remember seeing a pre-production spy pic and then having a completely different opinion of the real car. This one will lose alot of the attractive proportions which the current Maliby carries so well.

I like the current Malibu, except for the ***-end, which looks a bit dated.

I also like the new Cruze... a lot.

I'm hoping when it is finally unveiled the new Malibu will have some Cruze styling influences and not look too much like a Toyota.

And then I'm hoping for a more aggressive looking next gen Impala.

I like the tail of the current Malibu. Its only shortcomings are the size of its trunk and interior.

Re: 2012 Malibu spy shots

I think the current Malibu is still the best looking car in it's class... inside and out. I really like it all around.

Therefore, I kinda expect to be let down by the new one, though I hope I am wrong.
