GMI sources have also stated that a new Colorado will likely be produced at GM’s currently idled Spring Hill, Tennessee plant. Colorado and GMC Canyon are currently built in Shreveport, Louisiana; however GM left that facility behind in their June 2009 bankruptcy.
So hopefully!

Colorado used to sell in numbers as high as the Tacoma, then GM decided to give up on the Colorado. Hopefully the next truck can pull the sales back to at least to above Ford Ranger levels.

Its hard to tell dimensions from the art work, but it looks kind of small to me.
Since some of the designers are based in Brazil, it could be an update to the S10 pickup truck Chevy sells in Central and South America.

Here is the current model, which definitely has some of our old S10 DNA in it.

I remember Chevy also sold a even smaller truck down there called Chevy Luv(remember that name?), but I couldn't find it on any of the websites.

Oh, it most certainly does! Have you checked out the website with all the truck pics? I'm 100% positive the cab is exactly the same as the 96-04 United State's S-10's. They just added a flare to the bed and put a really fugly front clip on it.

It has all the DNA because it is a S-10 just with some updated fenders and other parts.

Using the import spec Colorado with a 4cyl. diesel would stop Mahindra dead in its tracks.

Yeah but.....how in the HELL is the Ranger the #2 selling compact pickup? You thought the Colorado was old? The current gen North American Ranger debuted in 1998. It's still using the 200 hp truck 4.0 that is basically Ford's equivalent to the GM 4.3....

Could GM be trying to not sell the Colorado right now? I know that sounds stupid, but ever since we've been trying to find my wife a new car we've been checking out 3 different Chevy dealers. One is fairly small and only ever has 1-2 Colorado's in stock. The other two are fairly large and neither has more than 3-4 in at a time to choose from. The local Toyota dealers typically have 15-20 Tacoma's to choose from. The Ford dealers seem to have at least 5-10 Rangers.

Same situation here. No Colorados or Canyons in stock last time I was at my dealer.

Did the Shreveport plant shutdown when GM went through bankruptcy? Are they even making the Colorado and Canyon anymore?

And the 1998 is just a light refresh of the 1993. So really this truck has been out for 18 years.

That 4.0L in the Ranger gets 18mpg hwy while the 403HP 6.2L GMC Sierra gets 19mpg hwy.

If I'm not mistaken, other than a couple of updated front fascias and a tweaked interior it's still the same looking truck. Do some Google image searches and it's obvious. People would have to be fooled into thinking it's an all new model in the same sense you'd think an '02 Camaro had nothing to do with the '93.
