2012 Chevrolet Colorado Patent Filing

http://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/f...olorado-93210/

Looks good so far. Lets hope that it gets the Equinox 2.4L and a high 20's to 30mpg rating. The key to this truck winning is getting the price well below the Silverado and the MPG way above the Silverado.

That bed design looks shallow, and it gives me the feel of a truck intended for markets outside the U.S.

Not a fan of the "Traverse" front end...and the bed looks funny...I can't imagine they'd have those tie-downs on a US spec truck.

I loved the looks of my Colorado that I had, from an exterior design perspective I think they hit a homerun last time...hopefully they can improve on that.

Maybe this will be were the US and foreign small trucks meet. One truck for the world market.

Integral tie downs like on the old Hilux Toyotas? And a roll bar standard?

I'm really digging the wheel design.

I like it except for the bed.
Needs to be smoother and more American looking.

Chevy has a habbit of making an "international" bed and an American bed for their pickups. They've been doing it to the fleetsides since the 1960's. I absolutely love the front clip and cab. I'm excited because I hardly doubt that will be the "US" bed. It just screams 80's.

To the comment about the Blazer (from the posts in the link).... that already exists... the Equinox. I suck at it, but if anyone knows how to photoshop an equinox into a truck, I have a feeling that's about what we're going to see. It would save GM a lot of money by sharing the front clips, winshield, dash/cowl/firewall, and doors The equinox powertrains would rock in a small truck. I think "the equinox" would make a sweet looking little truck.

I for one would love an Equinox pickup.

Selling the international truck in the US might be another way to differentiate the Colorado from the Silverado along with all other small and midsize trucks on the market.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

Are these patent filings pretty descriptive usually and close to the actual vehicle design?

I'm really hoping we get something more substantial than a 2.4, even though it is a good engine. I really don't like 4-cylinders no matter what is done to them, short of making them sound exactly like a 6 or an 8.

I'll take a 2wd one with a regular cab, short bed (American styled), 3.6L DI V-6, 6-spd manual trans, sport suspension, LSD, and a great interior with all the options.

Oh, and as long as it's built in the U.S. If not, they can keep it.
