2011 Chevy Orlando

How did we miss this?

http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/11/d...de-production/

Among the array of various concept and production vehicles at the GM display was the Chevy Orlando Concept that made its world debut in Paris just a few months prior. Based on the same platform as the Cruze, the Orlando offers seven seats in a relatively compact design. At its debut we found the Orlando to be a much more appealing than the HHR and hoped that GM would consider bringing it to the U.S. as a production vehicle. Our wish has been granted, and the Orlando will arrive in dealers as a 2011 model along with the Spark mini-car.
I'm surprised no one picked up on this earlier. With the Orlando, Spark and Cruze all due for MY2011, Chevy will have replacements for the HHR, Aveo5 and Cobalt all in one swoop. (Although the Cobalt is supposed to continue to be built alongside the Cruze as a low-content vehicle.)

I've not seen this in person, but I get the "Caliber's beautiful younger sister" type of feeling. How do these compare in size?

I am pretty sure that the Spark is smaller than the Aveo5 and not a replacement.

I don't think they've released the exact dimensions, but I've read that it's Mazda5/Kia Rondo sized. Pretty close to the current HHR.

It reminds me of the Caliber, too.
And it reminds me why I hate the Caliber's styling.

What is with the slab sides and gun slit windows?
Chrysler is hopefully getting away from that style. And no automaker should use it. Ever!

The idea is good, just not the execution.

I scooped you on that one too https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/sho...35&postcount=5

That is ok, this is worthy of its own thread. I hope AWD is an option. Chevy is lacking in that Escape/CR-V/Patriot segment.

Sorry, I missed it.

Great news any way you slice it. As cool looking as the HHR is, I agree that Chevy does need a less gimicky vehicle in this segment.

HHR has a Wheel base of 103.5 and this has a Wheel base of 108.6. The Orlando is just a bit bigger.

It probably needs to be to seat 7.
