Re: 2011 Chevrolet Captiva

I think it looks pretty decent. I suppose the grille has some similarities to the Mitsu... overall I like it better. The Mitsu corporate nose works better on the Lancer, whereas the Chevy might in fact be better on the SUVs than the cars.

We get the Equinox and Traverse instead. Europe just gets the one vehicle that is half way between Equinox and Traverse to do the job of both. Personally I'd rather have the Equinox or a Traverse over the Captiva, but I am very jealous that they get that 2.2L diesel.

Looks like a Saturn with a Chevy nose.

Nice, another diesel that we don't get

I'm particularly jealous of the diesel rangers all over the place here in Qatar.

How do the smaller diesel's drive with the heavier cars? Sadly, I have know way of knowing. The only small diesel I have ever driven was in a Jetta and that is a lighter car. I mean I've driven big trucks but that's a different ballgame.

Re: 2011 Chevrolet Captiva

Most government trucks here are 2.5L turbo diesels in the most recent Ranger, they're all 4door 4x4 and 5speeds and they're pretty nice to drive. Something like 260lb/ft in a ranger gets it up to speed quite a bit faster than necessary. They may not be heavy enough to comfortably pull a 20k lbs trailer but something like a boat would likely feel effortless. I'd take one over a USDM F-150 in a heartbeat.

Also according to Ford's UK website they have a nice looking 3.0L diesel option as well.
