Wasnt this picture from a concept website where an artist or 2 essentially designed their own ideal GM line up?
edit - just saw the link up top. Yep, this is from that website. I doubt the next generation Cobalt would look anything similar.

That's good to hear about the Delta and Astra.
As I've said before, GM lacking a true full time AWD is something that really hurts them in my opinion. This is especially true in the performance segment.

AWD is a lil more critical for a Euro Astra , the Golf/GTi/R32 and the Focus is its direct main competitor across the pond . The Focus is offered in AWD too in ST trim with a 6 cyl. To where in the US , none of the Cobalt competitors like the Mazda3 , Focus , Civic even offer AWD .

Yeah, but the Cobalt SS runs in the STI, EVO crowd too, both of which have AWD.
I'm just a big fan of AWD, because in our area of the country, it would be very nice to have a very sporty car that is very capable all year 'round.

Probably pricepoint. I know I for one wouldn't want to pay $28,000 for a AWD Cobalt, and I bet itd be hard to convert over a lot of the Subaru/Evo crowd.
The new Astra and the Saab would handle the upper market cars , the Cobalt will still remain a Mazda3 , Focus , Civic type car . Theres no sense in having a upmarket Cobalt too . The Cobalt might somewhat compete with a WRX , but a SS is NOT a Evo or STI competitor .
My SS handles its power just fine thru the font wheels as do many others that are making substantially more power than stock .
