2008 Xk8

Artist's Rendering of Coupe

Spy's of Vert

Jaguar launched its new XK at last year's Frankfurt Motor Show-but there's clearly more to come.

These are first photos of the XKR, shown here as a convertible prototype during cold weather testing. The differences from the stock XK are clear: there's an altered front end with big air intakes, air intakes in the hood and four big exhaust pipes at the rear end, along with larger wheel arches and a taller rear spoiler.

With its newly bulging hood, the XKR is taking aim at the BMW M6 and Mercedes SL 55 AMG. Backing up its claim is a supercharged 4.2-ltier V-8 delivering 400 hp.

Both the XKR coupe and convertible are expected to make their public debut at the Paris Motor Show this fall and to be in the showrooms in 2007.

Re: 2008 Xk8

eh, who cares, they are too stupid to put a manual tranny in it.

Even though the sports coupe is what established Jaguar as a company.
