2008 Cobalt SS?
huh? The LNF has a wideband O2 sensor, direct injection, an awesome cooling system, and a turbo. The LSJ by comparison is just a 2.0L basic ecotec with a tiny supercharger on it.
I predict in less than a year we'll see plenty of LNF's out there on stock internals pushing 350+. You can quote me on this

My LSJ with $1000 in mods made 280whp in my ion (14.0@106 mph, 2920 pounds)
My LNF with $1000 in mods makes 260whp in my sky(14.0@100 mph, 2940 pounds)
The ion is over 5 mph faster in the 1/4, but both run similar times due to RWD/FWD and the ungodly terrible gearing in the LNF's 5 speed gearbox.
Back to your points. The LNF doesnt have an awesome cooling system. The stock radiator is TINY and the intercooler is even smaller. Stock internals pushing 350? Yeah, its possible, but not with a stock turbo. There isnt enough airflow to support much over 300 if it even gets that much. And like I pointed out earlier in the post, this isnt your average pcm. It's light years ahead of the stuff GM sticks in its vehicles. DI is no joke. Oh, and the factory wideband is useless for tuning purposes, just in case you were wondering.
I can wait for the LNF pcm to be cracked completely to take full advantage of all the virtues of the 2.0 DI engine . Itd be much cheaper to replace the factory already about maxed out twin scroll with a more competent head unit , exhaust mods and boost controller , good tuning( tuned for E85
) and Im laughing my way to 400 hp land . Thats just not happening on a LSJ without substantial amount of money ....unless u spray the **** out of it
.
Sorry dude but one of my cars is just as fast and the other is faster than yours. Our cars arent that fast. This isnt 1995 this isnt the day when they where the new power on the street. They are getting old. You cant beat evreything you race. And you might be able to beat a stock cobalt SS but you wouldent "smoke" it.
As it stand I have no problem walking slightly modified LT1 from anything over 5 mph. Dont get me wrong, I loved my LT1.

Yes, the LT1 is very quick in it's own right, and was even ferocious by 1990s standards. But you're being a bit cocky thinking you're going to take down a SC Cobalt SS without trying.... let alone a new V8 Impala or Monte Carlo SS.

The Impala SS will just about match a stock LT1 Camaro in acceleration and top speed (yes, an Impala will go 155 mph... till the limiter steps in). In short, you may edge one out, but you won't be "smoking" one.
10 other cars I'd suggest you stay away from at the risk of severe embarrassement in front of the friends and aquantences you probally bragged to about how quick your '95 LT1 Camaro is
:1. Ford Mustang Mach1s with 5 speeds. They will devour you nearly as bad as blown late model Cobras.
2. Ford Lightning pickup trucks (trust me, it's the ultimate humiliation)
3. Anything that has the letters SRT in it..... Yes, that includes Neons.
4. Charger R/T. Once the computer feels the engine is broken in, it'll just about match an LT1 in acceleration. Yes, that also includes that station wagon thingy called Magnum.
5. Current Mustang GTs, again once the engine computer relaxes at break-in (they'll edge you out every time).
6. New V8 GXP Grand Prixs. You'll get them off the line, but they catch you by the end of the quarter.
8. Any late model GTO. You don't even want to try it.

9. Saturn Sky Redline or Solstice GXP. With half the cylinders, they'll get to 60 before you do, and and will keep that lead in most any street or freeway grand prix.
10. Any BMW with an M as part of it's badge made since 2000.
