Re: 2006 Saab 9-7x

Dumb review - it spent the first portion talking about how the press was calling it just a warmed over GMT-360 but that it wasn't and they were going to show us why.

Then queue an article talking about 'signature' details like placement of the key, backlighting on the dash, and so on.

About the most significant difference they mentioned was the way it handled. OK, so the suspension (which is still technically the same as the other GMT-360s?) is tuned differently. There are option packages that will do much the same on most cars these days.

For a review that tried so hard to focus on interior details they didn't really mention any of the low points in the details - namely a lot of the cheaper aspects.

All in all my review, of that review () is that they went about it backward; they went into it wanting to prove the "warmed over" comments from other editorials wrong; and because of that rather than looking at things fairly and objectively, they looked only for the details that would support their intended conclusion.

Personally, we’re far too inclined to take the TrailBlazer SS as our choice over the 9-7x. Well, being over $5k cheaper and having 100 more horsepower and all. Our 9-7x came out just over $41,000 for a sticker price, which isn’t all insignificant when you can get the same options/features in the TrailBlazer SS, save some cash, and still have 100 more horsepower (are we clear that’s a one with two zeros after?).
This seems to be a common thread on virtually every review I've read.

It is very ignorant of them to assume that everyone already owns or has driven a 2006 Trailblazer. What does warmed over GMT-360 mean? Is it good or bad? Most people don't know and don't care. It is just an easy way to put down a product and is a lazy way to right a review.

Think of "warmed over" as re-heating leftovers.
