2006 Porsche Cayman S
Re: 2006 Porsche Cayman S
Well, if you want to get into cost... This Cayman S wil probably have bigger, better brakes than the Vette, and a fancier dry sump oiling (both found in the Boxter S)
I dunno about interiors since I haven't sat in either one of them..
And for having such a hp definciency, it nips the heels of a Vette in the roadcourse (Boxster S).. And with the Cayman S supposidly being faster than a the Boxster S, I bet during a roadcourse test, it'll be right behind a Vette, if not in front of it..
I'm hoping, the next gen of the Vettes will be able to nail down the "driver feedback" bonus that the Porsche's and such always seem win out on in.
Personally, if I had the money to spend $50kish on a fully loaded Vette.. I'd also be cross-shopping this Cayman S too. Both seemingly excellent cars.. Both from very very different camps and ideals.
For now, I'll stick with my 99 Z28..

Porsches were never about value or bang for your buck. Despite that, they still sell and that's the reason why they are the most profitible automaker today.
I personally think it'll get pounded by the Z51 c6, but that hardly matters. Porsche will sell every one of them.
Someone brought up how Porsches have an extensive and expensive options list, no kidding. For the heck of it, i just took a $53k Boxster S and loaded it with $52,270 in options. Final price: $105,370
. I went all out, but 6 figures for a Boxster, wow. I've never seen an option list like it...where the options cost almost as much as the car itself (which is expensive to begin with).

Re: 2006 Porsche Cayman S
i think it doesn't look bad, very muscular actually
that's somewhat unexpected of porsche
but yea, there are basically 2 different buyers for these cars but i see the z51 just slightly edging out the cayman on a roadcourse
