2006 Miata??

Don't know if this is legit or not. Seems within reason:

That'll be the Solstice's competition.

Re: 2006 Miata??

Wow...didnt know the RX8's nose was a direct bolt on for the Miata? Thats pretty much what I am looking at. Nothing new. Is the Mazda gunan sit on teh RX8's chassis?
I just thought about the relation to Miata and RX8...could be something like Solstice to Camaro?

Re: 2006 Miata??

i dont know about direct bolt on, but the front end of the miata and rx7 have looked similar for a long time. i think this is a bad move for mazda, more people will think the rx8 is the rx7's replacement with these similarities. i guess this means that a new rx7 would look like that too?

Re: 2006 Miata??

it looks like a photoshop job. but it looks like it could be close to the real thing. the only problem just as with every other car's new generation is it's growing too much in both size and weight. that miata looks about the size of the 3rd gen rx7. though that rx7 was not a big or heavy car by any means, it was still larger/heavier than the miata. i agree that the new rx7, if it's even being developed, would be either too close to the miata in size/weight, or too big/heavy to be an rx7. which seems to suggest it's not really being seriously considered? is anyone awear of a solid lead on it's development?
