I like it. I think the thing that I like the most is actually the front clip.

Now just make it AWD and you'll have a 500 competitor.

WAY different size classes. I think you may mean Fusion competitor.

I think it looks great. The only thing I never liked about the current car was the nose...the sides, the rear and the inside are all fine.

Want sportier? Buy a G6! Remember, brand differentiation, gentlemen...

Yes, Yes, but if it were a larger car, then maybe.

IMO, not quite as bad as the king-of-blandness Camry's interior, though the Accord's is more stylish. But the panel fit and overall material quality of the current Malibu are quite good. Now the outside looks better than it did. I'm glad to see these refreshes.
The Malibu and Camry's interior look very comparable to me in terms of blandness. I don't like either one of them at all.

Malibu dash

Camry 360 (including dash)
Camry macro

I'd bet the new Camry coming out in a year will be a big improvement in terms of not looking so bland and generic.

The Accord is the hands-down winner for 4-doors IMO, with the Camry Solara contesting it for the 2-door (odd how the 2-door Camry has almost a completely different interior and much nicer one at that, IMO)

Solara

The Accord's nose reminds me of an anteater...the headlights are downright weird, IMO. Don't even get me started on the back of an Accord...

I'd take a G6 or Mazda 6 any day over an Accord...or even an '06 Fusion. And if you think the Solara is a great coupe, go look at a G6 coupe in person...the outside flat blows away a Solara. Same basic shape, but the detailing of the G6 is superior, at least to me...

One thing I don't like about GM is they don't offer the nice sporty rims on the base 4 cyl. cars. You can get 17"s on a 4 cyl. Mazda 6 or Altima. Malibu should have had 17"s as an option from day one.

I guess you missed the point where I was focusing on interior looks. The Accord's exterior looks could be a little more exciting for sure.

The car should have looked like this in the first place...

What? No big goofy looking chrome bar? How are we supposed to know it's a Chevy!?

FWIW, with the new IP and seats, I kinda like the Malibu SS interior...

Looks better. I've always thought the front was ok, not ugly. The only problem I have with it is the rr qtr panel and bumper, it looks very square from the back, which is why I would rather get a Maxx, as it doesnt look as square. Now with the freshened front bumper and grille, the Maxx should look even better. Although the headlamps are still tall.
