the spec sheet is unbelievable... 2250lb?? that's amazing. if I had 20k to dispose of, I'd be all over that.

EDIT: but I wonder if it actually handles well. or what is this thing's pitfall? you gotta wonder, why is the Ford GT 3500+lb and $150K?
It probably handles a lot like a C5/6 Corvette that weighs 900# LESS.

The only problem is weight distribution. The Corvette is pretty much 50/50 with the engine in front. By moving the engine to behind the passenger compartment, they made weight distribution worse.

Also, I have a feeling that the cost is so low is because they don't have to pay hundreds of Union workers to put it all together on a massive assembly line. LOL

A FFR GTM with a built Gen3/4 motor and a fully built Porsche G50 transaxle along with everything else is still less expensive than a 06 Z06 and would murder it. It should run 9s at a very high MPH.

The car was obviously designed as a mid engine car so I doubt the weight distribution is bad. If anything you'll have a little extra weight on the rear wheels, which can't be that bad for a car that might float away if you don't tie it down.

Ferrari more often than not has more weight in the rear on their mid engined cars, so obvouisly it can't be that bad to have more weight in the rear on a mid engined car.

Having more weight on the rear wheels improves both acceleration and braking because of weight transfer. As far as cornering capabilities, it doesn't seem to matter much- or in otherwords, you can make a front engine or a mid engine car handle equally well provided that they're properly designed for that setup. I'm sure that FFR has done their homework and the GTM should handle just like a C5 on the track, possibly better depending on center of gravity and aerodynamics.

I really wonder why they don't hire a student designer........

If you look at the portfolios of some amature and student designers, they could pull something off that would look as good as or even better than a production exotic.

Also, the pics are much improved over the prototype that was out last year. However it still looks weird. The B-pillar, and C-pillar and the rear windows all look out of place. The rear looks much less exciting than the front, and the windshield/front end looks like it would be a difficult view out.

Rear weight does not seem to be much of a problem for Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc. So, I really don't see why it would hurt this car.
