That and there should be some visual distinctions for the Z06 from the regular 'Vette. I personally think the bigger fenders out back and the wide *** tires might be enough. Just nothing to get all excited about.

imagine how we would react if there were a picture shown to us that was so vague, it could be anything from a new ferrari to a new hummer, but we knew beyond any doubt that underneath the skin it was the new camaro.

Re: 2006 Corvette Z06
That's quite a strect to say the C6 Z06 will have a 7000cc engine due to the fact that the 5700cc CTS-V WC GT engine uses a 7000cc block, only with a smaller stroke. What makes everyone think that the new Z06 will have it? Did I miss something? This block has been around for nearly over 8 years.

i hope my eye is a good as i think it is.My guess is this is a powertrain or suspension test car. I wouldn't read too much into how the body looks. This could easily be a standard C6 body with the powertrain, suspension, etc of a Z06. The wheel size is probably correct. The presents of fender flares is probably correct, but these are not integrated well. The flares were probably tacked on to help hide the large wheels. Notice how the doors, fenders and quarter panels do not line up or blend well. The front grill would need to be functionaly correct so that engine cooling testing could be run. That is why you can see some mess sticking through on the front, but the rest of the front is very well covered. The roof may or may not have a targa top on the actual Z06.
If this car has a roll bar / cage it is probably for high speed testing at GM's proving grounds (this will not make it into production). They are pretty serious about saftey there. When very high speed testing is run, roll cages, fire suits, helmets, etc. are manditory. They will usually close that particular road / track to other cars and have rescue personel on stand by.
