2005 Stang Rear Susp/Floorpan Pics w/n

It was designed to Share mounts with the IRS mainly the Control blade IRS. The stamped metal trailing links, featuing Voided rubber bushings , a CB trademark, mount to where a BS IRS would mount. the shocks for an IRS mount in a simlar location to where an IRS would mount. the differential Link and mounting is a differnt issue it is not sharable with a IRS, IT would require Reinforcement where an IRS platform would not.

Good shot of the variable rate springs and panhard bar.
Won't put those on upside down!

Here are some additional pics FYI those interested...
same IRS pic but wider
Front suspension with new L-arm and coil-over
a nice pic with opacity (see-thru) of rear end
and one of the bizarre new aout shifter
and finally, a nice cutaway pic of the new 4.0

You know, I find it interesting that so many are/were concerned about the new Mustang's ability to handle and ride quality - aka the IRS thread.

As it turns out, Hau Thai-Tang is specifically a chassis engineer, and his last active project before heading Team Mustang involved the DEW98 platform and the Lincoln LS on which it's built. Anyone who can type "Lincoln LS" in a search engine is going to find raves and rants about how well the car handles and rides.

I find it difficult to swallow that the same guy would settle for egg-in-the-face on a project like the Mustang - immediately on the heels of a success like the LS suspension.
I have a sneeky feeling the Mustang is going to surprise many once it hits the market.
