2005 Mustang video with exhaust sound
I just don't get it. I can not wait to see how this thing sells. It just doesn't seem to have the broad based visual appeal of the old one. I see like a hundred girls driving v6 mustangs a day. I don't see those customers buying this. Do people really like that front end?
Yes, and the more people that see it in person, the more they like it. It's a great blend of 60's, 70's and 90's Mustangs. Even the parts that I didn't originally like are starting to grow on me. This car is going to be hot. I have no doubt of that. I dare say it will pull quite a few of the Camaro faithful that aren't all out anti-Ford people.
good vid...sometimes you can't really appreciate a car's looks until you see it in motion...When I was at the NAIAS, the stang was being driven from the rear entrance to the stand, and I followed it all the way through cobo hall (sadly, it was being driven at 3mph, and i didn't hear the exhaust note)
I also saw the ME-412 being pushed through the hall

Not only do I believe that the '05 Mustang will be embraced by the general public......I believe a good chunk of the members on this Camaro board will ultimately own one too.

Didn't we do a poll or something on that topic and if I remember correctly, no one really said they would buy one, some said they might take a look but that's about it.

Well, we'll see. In the next couple of years...if someone is looking for a reasonably priced V8, RWD, new car....they will choose between a $32,000 GTO, a DC LX car Hemi for $30,000-$35,000, or a Mustang GT for $24,500.
Which would you choose?
Polls on this forum are, with due respect, biased for the most part. Also, the way the questions are worded play a big part as well. Now that Camaro looks like it won't be out for even a little longer than most expected, even on this forum the results should be a little different. I say start a new poll with specific questions that don't lead the voters. Also, a poll for RWD ONLY cars in the $20,000 - $35,000 price range. After all, we're talking about a replacement for the Camaro.

After seeing that site with the pictures and vid..without even looking at all the posts in this thread to sway my mind, I said to myself this thing isn't half bad at all!
I could see myself buying this in the next year, probably in black. Seems like a finished car but I'll have to see it in person.

What will be interesting is the 4-5 year sales pciture, perhaps even the 2-3. It would not surpirse me if there's a wild rush the first year or two then the bottom drops out. The fatal achilies heel for retro, IMO, is it begins to look old and dated much sooner than contemporary designs.
I think in profile the car looks really great, but the front end is still just hideous to me and the back seems an after thought, and the interior just looks plain and uninspired. It just seems like I've seen it before (oh wait, that's right, I have).

Nope, don't see it selling like the current car or keeping consistent sales. I don't even know how the current car sold good! (or any M*stang!)

LOL, which is why I think those who hate retro will be wrong about this one. There are cars that are "retro" looking that are still selling well past their "time". To understand why this one will sell well 5 years down the road you'd have to understand the Mustang community.
