I hope the next camaro has color choices like that.
Unlike the 4th gens:
Black
Gray
Silver
Pewter
Light gray
Slightly darker silver
White
I also the red interior
(I know I'm the only one who likes red)

I've said this more than once, but it'll probably never happen.
I was happy to see GTO offer Purple and Blue interiors even though you can only get them on purple or blue exteriors.
I think the GTO would look cool in Silver with either the blue or purple interior. The blue interior would also look like with Black exterior, IMO.

I'd like to see even more color choices. Like 12-14 exterior, and 6 interior... something new like Blue or Green interiors.

P.S. I will never by a pewter colored car, no matter what it is.

Pewter is to the 00's what teal was to the 90's. I've yet to see a car that it looks good on.
Ironicaly, before I decided to go to TCU, I nearly bought a pewter 2000 Z28 two years ago. Color wasn't that big of a factor to me at that point, I just wanted an LS1.

the reason that the Fbody didn't get Millenium Yellow is because of the paint process.
Most Corvettes and all Fbodies got a base coat...the color coat, if you will, followed by the clear coat...that's what gives it the gloss finish and brings the color out.
Millenium Yellow and Magnetic Red get a tri coat...in the case of Millenium Yellow, it gets a basecoat...then a "tint" coat (actually has some green in it..and that's what gives it the 'depth' and 'accent'...and then the clear coat.....means the body has to go thru the paint process again.
As to bright colors....I hear ya!....however, looking at the bright colors that were tried: Bright Blue, Bright Green, Hugger Orange, Sport Gold....and the '98 bright purple....all were killed when they dropped below 3% application rate. (once it drops below 3 percent, the color is put on 'watch'...and then cancelled...due to paint deterioration in the vats......)
You'll recall that in 1999, we introduced the Bright Blue, Hugger Orange and Pewter......Pewter became the number one seller......Blue was cancelled by, I believe March 15...and the only reason we kept Hugger Orange is that a few of us argued that there were a substantial amount of 'sold' orders in the order bank and we should only rightfully build what the customer wants.
I wistfully look back at the late 60s..when there were well over a dozen exterior colors, several stripe packages and a dozen interior trims...you could really build your unique car....however, costs to do this are astronomical. Think about this: most interior components come from hundreds of suppliers....they all must color match in terms of shading, graining, gloss level, and fit/finish......very very expensive to continue to change.......

1) Rarely seeing more than a few Camaro's on a dealer's lot.
2) Almost every one you did see was Black, Red or Pewter.

I think pewter looks good on Tahoes and Buicks, my parents had a 99 Venture in pewter. It just doesn't fit in with sports cars, too conservative. Silver is much better.
I think the reason pewter was/is popular is because it is easy to keep looking clean. I have a Silver SS now and it looks great all the time, even after it rains.
Red Planet, is it possible to do limited editions runs of a color? VW and Ford have done it. Maybe something like every 6 months do 500-1000 cars of a certain color? would this be too expensive?
p.s. Hugger Orange is AWESOME!!

Teal was one of the weaker colors, IMO (and teal cars look kind of dated - again, IMO). To me pewter is a color like silver, black, red, or white: it won't make a car look dated.
Pewter may not be my first choice, but I think the SS looks really good in pewter, as does the C5.
For the C6, my favorite color may be the new rusty orange (Daytona Sunset Orange Metallic).
That ordering guide is pretty cool! There is a neat shot of the gauges including the new heads up display.
Unfortunately, they are expecting 65% penetration for the automatic (BOOOO!)...
I want a Z51 convertible...
