2004 Cannonball
2004 Cannonball
I should put this in the Lounge (God I hate that place), but there's a few cars may intrest a few of you here.
Included in the line up running this year (of relatively new cars) is a G35x sedan (the AWD version), 2 CTS-Vs, a supercharged Lincoln LS (done up an run by Lincoln engineers...veeery interesting.), & no fewer than 3 BMW Minis.
I'll be at the racetrack formerly known as "Sears Point" just north of San Francisco when they blow through my neck of the woods on May 2nd.

Got based in Monterey couple of months ago.
The good:
Laguna Seca, Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, Pebble Beach Classic, more money and closer to the family, Clint Eastwood lives about 5-10 miles away (formerly mayor of the next town, Carmel), San Jose (40 minutes away) is a NorCal performance car mecca, 3 really excellent pubs.
The Bad:
The cultureshock of leaving San Diego-Los Angeles and moving to a very tiny (by comparason) seside town, the 3 really excellent pubs is half of all the bars in town, less sun & way colder winters, no more "prototype alley" (the I-405 corrador that has all major car maker's west coast operations & related frequent prototype sightings), & the occasional Berkley treehugging weenie.
Aw well, it's a trade off.

5 years ago i moved from San Diego, Ca to a small town in MN called Rochester. Gives a whole new meaning to small towns, colder winters, less sun, and culture shock
. I plan on making a trip down to SD and LA this summer.
