poSSum, I thought they were calling it a concept, just like how the SEMA cars are just moddiflied production cars but they still call them concepts.

I woulda liked to see them really mod it like the TA's.
A lot of people somehow got the impression the woodward cars were the 5th gen or the '03 model....I think its just misinformation from the uniformed that gets passed around.
These two cars were built as show cars only and don't hint at anything. Actually neither one of them are 2002s. The white Firebird is actually a '98 according to Settlemire and the Camaro was a track car for the Justin Bell Driving School that they turned back in to GM.

Another interesting fact: The 572 ZL1 Camaro john Moss built is actually a 1993
, it used to be his daily driver.http://www.fantasycars.com/derek/car...amarozl1_2.jpg
The 572 Camaro was neat, but unfortunantly, if I remember, the Boss Mustang Ford made for a comparo was faster, at least in the straight line..
Both were breaking parts on the roadcourse test though.. I think the Mustang had valvetrain problems while the Camaro destroyed the rear..
Later, they put a LS1 frontend on the 572 Camaro..

It's a 2002.
There was no 2003 concept, no 2003 f-body, no 2003 anything related to the f-body.

Chris is right.....the Trans Am was a '98 Development car at the Milford Proving Grounds...the SS was a car that we had loaned to Justin Bell Driving School...both cars were done (in record time) for the Woodward Dream cruise......
We did not build any 2003 Camaros....the last 4th gen (2002 model) off the line was August 27, 2002......last 'saleable' Camaro was a Red Z28 coupe......went to Mark Gembenski......for $72,500 at Kruse Auction over labor day, 2002........the 'next to last' car off the line was a Red Trans Am Convert......the last car off the line was a Camaro --- a Red Z28 Convertible (last 6 of VIN is 172469) and it resides in the GM Historic Collection...neither of the last two cars are "saleable" as they received a special "non saleable" code on the build sheet and thus, the window labels do not list the options...they're both, as I recall 6-speeds.
The UAW/Sunoco Camaro body panels MAY show up on a group of special Camaros done by a nationally known Chevy Dealer......
And...the Ste. Therese Plant is still standing....but may be demolished.......

I distinctly remember seeing a 2003 Camaro picture/ photochop/ or concept, in one of the Big Magazines in 2002...I only wish I could remember which one...
I know it wasn't a GM effort, but an attemp at a plausable evolutionary "next step"...I remember I didn't care much for it either, too smoothed and plain..

I beleive hes thinking of the ZL1 Reissues which are found here http://www.batterytoppers.com/gallery/2002_zl1.html They had some here in NC at Hendrick. They wanted 80 grand each for them but they were very nice. Still not worth it but they said the ones from the 60's in mint condition are worth 600,000.

Could comeone confirm if the last Camaro IS at the National Corvette Museum at Bowling Green - I haven't been at that museum in a few years and that would be a great excuse for a drive!
Since the "axe" was dropped a few years before production terminated, one can be assured that there was little to no product development, aside from what was required by the Feds (the double hatch-latch and child seat anchors), and while sketches may have been made, I doubt any clays or models were made....
Red Planet, any insights on that?
