Wow, they took all the worst styling cues from the aftermarket and rolled them into one piece of chrome the size of a small nation.

 

The interior is nice, and so is the back, but whats up with that grill? Maybe I need to see it in person.

Escalade looks 10 times better and has an extra 103HP and better gas milage

 

Why would anybody buy that over an Escalade/Yukon??? It doesn't look nearly as nice as either one, (especially the Escalade). Unless they are basically giving them away to potential Esc/Yuk buyers, I don't see them selling well. I honestly don't see any advantages that it has over either vehicle

 

x2 on the gagues. As for the front, there is nothing I can say that hasn't already been said.

I think it's funny that FoMoCo still uses the "Clark Griswold Lampoons Vacation double taillamp" theme on it's prestiege brand.

The front is terrible, the rear is terrible.... ugh.

 

Charlie, I'm a guy that likes all 2 1/2 US automakers. But I gotta tell you, I really don't know what to make of Ford (especially Lincoln) lately. I'm really starting to think they're doomed. It's almost like Bill Ford gave the reins of the company to Consumer Reports, and the design department over to Napolean ("we will force you to adopt our grill, whether it fits and looks right or not...")

If rumors are correct in that the Town Car is going to be replaced by yet another variation of Volvo's FWD chassis or a redesigned Mustang ends up with that horrid 3 bar grille, all hope is lost for the Ford Motor Company.

 

It is strange that so much media attention is placed on the "downfall" of GM but very little about Ford. If you scratch the surface, it seems that Ford is in bigger trouble than GM and this can be illustrated by the future products plans by Ford. What is going on..................

 

GM's a bigeer target, plus Bill Ford has touted innovation and sustainable technology, hybrids and the green roof on (I think) River Rouge Mfg.

That probably buys you a little 'overlooking' in press circles.

And to top it off, it STILL has the same old lame 300hp 5.4. Not even good enough to hang with a previous 345hp gen Escalade let alone the new 405hp one. It's not only Ford design that's given up, Ford powertrain appears to have as well.

Anyone that picks this over an Escalade is dumb. Harsh? yes, but Lincoln's execution is THAT bad and Caddy's that good to the point where the choice is a nobrainer. I can honestly say now that Cadillac is in a completely different class than Lincoln. The 2 things that even kept Lincoln in the picture (the LS and Navigator) have either been killed or fawked. They are in SERIOUS trouble.

 

Ford is actually not as bad off as GM, and isn't doing bad under the circumstances. Mustang, large trucks, and the Fusion/Milan/Zephyr (formerly known as) are holding the company together, and Ford owns the police and livery market. Problem is that Ford is earning, overall, a 1% return on every vehicle it and it's divisions sell worldwide this past quarter. Ford is trying to shrink themselves down to profitability, and going mainstream in it's designs, cheap and dull in it's drivetrains, and sending all enthusiasts to Mustang.

GM, meanwhile, is bleeding billions per quarter, addicted to incentives, and is bogged down by not being able to bring vehicles to market fast enough.

First off, that exterior front end is horrific! WTF happened?? Who signed off on that mess?

The interior looks pretty lame also. Lincoin is way behind the game with this thing. The new Escalade crushes this in every way possible!

 

Yeah, but I guess I meant was that GM seems to show very strong promise with their vehicles and future entries while Ford seems to have very few possible "hits". GM's engines, transmissions, platforms, and styling all seem to be well ahead of Ford and set to take on the world's best and is at least attempting to do so. Ford's future vehicles seem to be content at being middle-of-the-pack. The potential of Ford does not seem to be there and it seems that in a few years, they may be in worse shape than now. They have taken all the exciting product out of production or development (that we can tell) for the moment so they better be able to sustain themselves with mid-level product until they get thier act together. I want to see GM and Ford battle for the top spot again................with GM winning of course.
