I think the overlap for HHR and Vibe is next to nada. They just look too different to be cross-shopped *IMO*.

Re: '07 Caliber comes into view
On one hand, I think the Caliber is a neat ride. It's interior is nice from what I can see, and the exterior (though the poster child for the word "Overdone") is far more "expensive" looking than anything else that's going to be around the $20K mark.
On the other hand, I gotta say WTF?!
I'm probally one of the 2 or 3 people on this site that actually liked the Neon, and I think the SRT4 is the absolute baddest budget pocket missile with 4 wheels and FWD (especially in ACR trim
). With the Caliber positioned as Neon's sedan replacement, I gotta say it's gonna irritate alot of people. ALOT of people.
The only saving grace in all this is that there is something else coming off this chassis as well, that isn't classified as a "Truck". I can't say if it's going to be a coupe or sedan, but something else is enroute by most accounts.

The SRT-4 was/is a sick little ride, and I wouldn't mind having one, (even if it is front wheel drive). It's unfourtunate that this is it's replacement. Just when Dodge had really kicked it up a notch with the SRT-4, they kill the car it's based on. Just by lookin' at this new car, I can't imagine that it could carry on that performance tradition...and from what I see the neon is better looking. I guess we'll just have to see when it comes out, so I'll quit running my mouth for now

Local article on Caliber and other vehicles on the same platform. At least 2 Jeep models coming and rumors of a fourth unspecified vehicle.
