So... is this thing going to be the electric-gasoline hybrid we saw in earlier coverage?

I hope those overhangs are mostly padding....otherwise, they're freakin' huge.

The Eclipse-E concept at NAIAS was hideous. Any car even based off of those styling cues would not be a pretty sight.

I agree on the overhangs, but what's the story on that trunk line? Tell me that's just padding to disguise the lines of the car???

Lots of padding...

Nothing else would make sense.

Remember the C6 spy shots? They had a lot of padding on them too...

And I used to like the old Eclipse. Even the new one has grown on me. They did make it a bit too small though. So if the new one is a little larger, that would be a good thing. I'm about 6'2" and I could not fit into my mom's '01 Spyder. The top of the windshield was right at my eye level.

Like anything else, we'll have to see it with the camo off before passing judgement. Even then, you'll probably want to see it in person to be sure.

What I find interesting here is that this one of the "Project America" platform cars. Since it's so heavily disguised......it could very easily be the next Sebring or Stratus Coupe/Avenger replacement.

Considering that this platform already has AWD engineered for it...and that it will accept any number of 300++++hp DCX/Mitsu turbo motors.....we may be looking at Dodge's long rumored entry into the "Pony Car" market.

i kinda liked the concept but should have figured they'd ghey it out as they did with the 3G. I was liking the short stocky compact 350z type of stance, but its looking more 3G/Stratus like

that is wayyyy too big to be an eclipse, but yeah, eh, who knows, the sebring coupe built of same platform is about that size...

but i think it looks much better so far, even in padding then the current tooo small to fit into eclipse....
