Was just scouting out Club Si's Kill section for any BS Stories.. And I noticed this.. thought I'd post it.

Hope it's not a Repost.

I think this gets funnier each time this gets posted!!

Too bad it didn't make it in the gminsidenews.com contest....I think we can make the assumption that this is the most popular design concept out there now. Not perfect, but it's got soul!!

I'd just like you guys to be honest with yourselves for a minute....if this were "just" a hand-sketched concept would it be blowing people away like it is now?

Is it the design or is it just the software?

You're right....maybe it is just the software. There's just something about seeing a concept in a real world environment though. So much better than a hand drawing.

Exactly.

I've said it before... nothiong against Kris's hard work, but I'd love to see some of the other hand-drawn designs done up in that software for a fair comparision.

that is a good point, but even hand drawn this is definatly up there for my favorite concepts.

The computer is just another tool for showing the design. I'm sure he had plenty of sketches before and during the rendering process. But you know, these days you have to keep pace with technology or draw really well. Some sketches are too loose to get a good, clean idea of all the lines a car has. A computer rendering can show exactly how its going to look with real lighting conditions.

I think a lot more conceptoul artists should be using this fawking software then...it would help them articulate exactly what their trying to do instead of leaving blurred lines...And no, its not "just the software" that made this concept a jaw-dropper to me. If that were an actual car, I would have bought it by now. Too bad auto manufacturers can't make anything that sweet though...
