I think the CTS V-series will use the base C6 400hp+ vette engine in the coming years and the STS V-series will use the C6 500hp+ Vette Z06 Engine after the current LS1 and LS6 runs its course.

The CTSv with it's smallblock power, may be abit of a fluke...due to it's engine bay's inability to accept a Northstar.
