05 Mustang on the street
05 Mustangs look better on the road then than I thought they would... I took this picture while driving down 696 in Southfield, Michigan.

Yeah, I have seen them out on Southfield. I have actually seen the '05 out 3 times. I saw it 2 times on Southfield and one more time on a drive back from the dragway. I can't remember what road it was coming off.
The first time I saw it was after the auto show this year, but it still had camo on the doors for some reason. The next time I saw it, it was totally exposed. The last time I saw it, it had camo on the front fascia and doors. I don't know why they still had the camo on it at that point... seeing as it was previously totally exposed

There are several pics of the red and white GT cars on the streets in/around Nashville during the big show there. I was suprised how freely Ford was driving them around actually.
They drove the white one to Nashville from Dearborn - it still had MFG's tags on it. They also drove it on the track during track time - it looks and sounds great at speed IMO.
If interested, there's several pics on Stangnet and Corral.net - look in the lounges and 2005 forums, search for "nashville +road", I don't have time to link them all right now.
One guy actually took several pics going home from the show, in which the white 05 and two other Mustangs are "running" together up the highway... at a "good" rate of speed too. The car does look pretty nice.

From what I've heard, the new design isn't any worse aerodynamically then the current Mustang's, and may even be a tad better

A grill still has a radiator behind it, whether it's upright or not. Also, the new one has headlight covers that angle towards the sides as opposed to the hood. Either way smooths out the airflow I'd imagine.

I wouldn't doubt it.

I've been saying "don't judge aerodynamics based on looks alone" for sometime now. Modern technology has come a long way, and a car can be quite aerodynamic, and not have a bullet shaped body. Case in point: boxy looking Volvo S80 has a coefficient drag of 0.28. And the big Lexus Ls430 luxury sedan has a drag of 0.26.
So i kind of figured aerodynamics wouldn't be any worse than the new-edge Sn95 cars. If Ford did their homework right, it might even be better.

Gimme a '69 Mach 1 or a '69 Z/28 over these late model bubble-cars ANYDAY for curb appeal!
