You have just spouted off reviews taken from every major Car reporting agency, and this board. You have said nothing new, nor personal insight on anything. If you really did in fact do this, then please bring someting to the table other than drivel that has been said over and over again. And what Iroc EVER came with crossfire injection?!?!

did Irocs even ever sound good? So far, I dont think any stock fbody has sounded "good" unless it had aftermarket exhaust to begin with (SLP Optioned cars), just my opinion though. The stang guys win my vote for sound. Even the crappy sounding stangs. lol

Glad you had fun at the test drive. But I think you should re-examine your Vette/GTO thoughts. I've also driven both, and though the GTO is quite fun (and refined), it does not throw you back quite like the Vette.

The Vette has a distinct advantage in handling AND power/acceleration, not just in handling. 500 lbs of weight difference can do that... (and we're just talking base Vette here; the Z06 is in a different dimension than the GTO's).

once and for all, HOW is the current GTO different from the ORIGINAL GTO? the original one was based off of and looked identical to the Le Mans. in fact i have a hard time picking which one is which. the new GTO however has to little opening in the grille that look SIMILAR to ever other Pontiac (brand recognition anyone? anyone?) currently made.

no one has ever answered this question but i would really like them to. all everyone wants to do is bitch. yup way to really make GM consider another RWD V8 car.

I know, I know (and agree). This has been discussed at length in the 5th Gen/Future forum as well...

Dunno why you're ranting. Most people have said they like the GTO but it's no vette. Is there something wrong about saying that? Or maybe the fact that the GTO is aesthetically exactly like a Grand prix? It's not that the grand prix is ugly, I like it better than most for sedans, but I wanted a bit meatier look to the GTO. I give the GTO an A-. Bad ***, but room for improvement.

sorry didnt mean to sound like i was ranting. i merely brought it up because this is a thread that looks play an important role in.

as far as a meatier look, i think they hit the nail on the head with this one. pontiac made a badass looking ram air car and everybody jumped on it and loved it. but then it sort of died off. i see more trans ams than i do WS6's not adays. i just think giving the GTO a mean look like the WS6 got will hurt sales. not everyone wants a car to be so in your face.

Glad you can get excited over a boring design. More power to you. In the meantime, stfu yourself.

I was cruising with a new black GTO on 680 south on the way to the Goodguys show this weekend, and I just have to say that anyone saying it is too bland and it doesn't look "meaty" enough is smoking crack. You wanna talk bland? How about a tan stock Camaro with those UGLY plant/tree looking stock aluminum wheels (not the 5 spokes). Now that is bland.

Yes the GTO looks like a GP but more like a cavalier or sunfire to me. The reason I said it was like an autocross track is because they actually do race autocross time trials at Turner field. It's a real SCCA event and you have to be a member. I've attended that two times. The track was slightly larger but still almost identical to their regulation track.

Now on the the other topic, by no means am I saying that the GTO is going to replace the Vette, but you have to give credit where credit is due. The car is truly fast, not 4 banger with NOS fast but chevy 350 Aluminum block LS1 fast. Plus I loved the rack and pinion streering, been a while since I drove a R&P car. True racers know power assisted steering in a high power car is a death trap waiting to happen. Oversteer, understeer, does'nt matter without R&P you cant appreciate handling under high pressure, chicanes or apex's. The car was actually fun to drive and I wanted to take it home for a night lol.

If it's true dual exhaust, that would explain the simple raw sound it makes (I loved it 2 death). Critics of the new GTO have to admit one thing.... Pontiac outdid themselves for the simple fact that they put actual thought and R&D into this car. it's built for the street racers in mind and for anyone who wants to jump ship off of the "SS import" and ride along the chevy cruise ship. GM is trying to take the import business back from Honda and it's obvious with the GTO

Yea I thought all of the traction buttons were engaged because I could'nt catch any rubber, as hard as I tried lol!! I think the guy in the SSR with me was hiding it with his hand, cause i asked him where it was and he did'nt know or did'nt hear me.
I
f you were there at Turner field, i was the there Saturday. I was the black guy with the Tattoo's and the all Polo kit (yes I got thing for the LO). Alot of nice people there, which was a big surprise to me. I will be going back whenever it comes back.
