Hmm....we could be looking at our mythical motor slotted between the LS3 and the LS9.

There is a public section of the GM Media website. Anything posted there, like the 08 Vette release, is up for grabs.

There is also a secured section of that site that requries formal registration with GM to gain access.

Well a HSV GTS with an LS2 putting out 414hp and 550nm and weighing approx. 1880kg is supposed to send it to 60mph in approx. 5sec . So take out some weight, add some power and torque and you have your answer

Yeah, I know. I just wasn't sure last night if that release was going to end up on the public site or the password protected site, so I deleted the contact info.

No biggie.

It is not identical to the Z06 system; the Coupe/Convertible uses a 2.5-inch-diameter exhaust, while the Z06 uses a three-inch system.

With the new, dual-mode performance exhaust, power output for Coupe/Convertible rises from 430 horsepower (321 kW) and 424 lb.-ft. of torque (575 Nm) to 436 horses (325 kW) and 428 lb.-ft. (580 Nm). This system gives the Corvette a more aggressive exhaust sound character that will appeal to performance enthusiasts.
Thanks but I saw that - it doesn't really answer what I was looking for which is how is it packaged? Separately or only with the Z51 package or what? Most importantly to me, can I get it on a MRC equipped coupe?

I wonder if it will still be available as a crate motor?

Sounds like it is a stand alone option.

They probably would have called it the new Z51 exhaust if it was part of that package.

OK I can see that - I'm just a little concerned since I know I read somebody say (before this press release came out, probably on another board) that it would be added to the Z51 package.

Hmm... I wonder what it'd cost?
