I'm planning to get custom KFP pads at this point if the LS1 pad isn't a stock pad. Want to go in with me ordering some? PF won't make any, I've asked twice, and I won't buy Hawk's.

If you want I can bring my spare stock LS1 pads to RA in case you get in trouble.

Bob,

I'm interested in why you won't get Hawk pads. I've just ordered Hawk HP+ pads from Tire Rack for my C5 upgrade, and if I should cancel the order, I have some time.

I have a friend, a guy that only runs the best, and he had a set of Hawks, and they "chunked" apart. I don't ever want to come into a turn as fast as I can push it, and find out after that I lost brakes due to crap pads.

Your mileage may vary.

Bob, thanks for the offer on the stock pads, I have a set. I should have enough pads for RA, I was looking to get some more pads for 9-15, alfa club event at RA, and the long race at Blackhawk. We can talk about a group purchase on pads at RA

Gary,
How much do you want for the hawk blues? How bad are they tappered? I will alos email you.
Thanks
Mike

Since Carbotech uses Hawk friction from what I hear, there aren't many choices. Hawk may have had a temporary problem, I don't know. Amyway, I ordered a set of full race KFP's today for next year's brakes. The only other race pad I've found is EBC. I'll probably try a set of theirs also.

I've been told that PAGID in either orange (warmer climate) or black (cooler) are really good racing brake pads. But I'm not sure if they make them for F-bodies.

I'm currently using PF 01's. They are basically full race pads. Lots of noise and brake dust, but they stop great!!!!
I had PF 93's for about 3 races, then they broke down and my cross drilled rotor shreaded them up. They were completely gone, and all the rotor holes were filled with brake pad material.

I've used both Hawk blues and now Carbotech XPs. The carbotechs are great on the rotors and stop ok but the Hawks stop better, fade less and last longer.

Cool

I've been very happy with my KFP carbon kevlar pads. Not cheap $170 for LS1 fronts, but they work good.
