What are the best springs?
I am looking for the most solid springs. I prefer not to lower my car at all but I know I most likely will have to. I autocross race my 2002 Z28 and I want it to be as solid as possible, I am not too worried about getting a rough ride but I want my car to be stiff in the turns and I don't want any nose dive. I hate how much it nose dives when I stop. What are the most progressive rate springs out there?
I'm a little confused by your question about progressive rate springs conflicting with your comment that you want your car to be stiff in the turns and have no nose dive. A linear rate spring would give you the best transient response and the least nose dive. Most all stiffer springs will lower your car somewhat, except 1LE springs, and they're not very high rate.
If your real goal is to have a good autocross car, and you're not doing that many high speed events, I wouldn't be too preoccupied with making the car very stiff. I've taken a lot of advice from Sam Strano this year (http://www.stranoparts.com) and am running 500 lbs./in Ground Control coilovers on the front with stock springs in the rear. The front end is lowered about 2" to get -2 camber legally in ESP. In the rear I just took out the rubber spring isolators to drop it about .75". Even with stock swaybars and some revalved Bilsteins this car is great on tight courses. For high speed events, like at Waterford Hills it needs some more roll stiffness.
How you set up your car all depends on what your real goals are.

Thanks for the advice. You live in Wolverine lake, do you every go to Miland to drag race? Where do you autocross at? I am going to Ypsilanti on the 28th to auto-x at the Visteon plant, let me know if your going, I always like to see good F-bodies race to get some ideas.
I've drag raced my car once when I first bought it just to see what it would do. That's enough for me. I enjoy cornering a lot more.
I'll be racing with the MSCC on 7/21. Check out http://www.dcscc.com. It's the Detroit Sports Car Club. Their turnouts are more in the range of 100 cars instead of maxing out at 230 cars like the SCCA. With DCSCC events I like the casual approach and the fact that you can take all 4 of your runs basically back to back, and then go home. I've registered for 2 SCCA events on 7/28. One is the Visteon plant. I guess which one I go to depends on how I feel that morning.
